MY DAD... HOW CAN YOU NOT THINK HIM A SAINT?
This is my dad:

This is the kind of stuff he just does, without once thinking about it twice. Apparently someone just called the newspaper photographer when they saw him working on it, and that's that.

The man is incredible, and I'm lucky to be his son.

That's very sweet. Of course, he'd have to be a great guy to have raised you. ^^ [/cheesy]

*blushes*

It just blows me away how that kind of thing is just NORMAL for him, you know? Most people, this would be a huge deal or a huge sacrifice... my dad, though, it's just how it is.

Damn, but I'm almost in tears right now thinking about how wonderful a human being he is...

Thanks, Sarah...

I wish you could all know him as well as I do... you'd be even more blown away...

I also wish we could clone him, because the world definitely doesn't have nearly enough of people like him...

LOL!

Poor Meaghan! I'll have to build her a few of those shelters when she comes up! Maybe I'll have to build a shelter IN the house, 'cause it may not be warm enough for her! ^_~

Hehehe... but she's from Atlanta... I dunno if there's enough insulationin the world to keep her warm! ^_~

And yeah... and this? This was NOTHING. One day, I'll write a book about ALL the other incredible things he's done... The world could really learn a *lot* from this simple, humble prison guard...

Atlanta! If I find out I've passed her in the halls at AWA n years running, I'll... chalk it up to more Too Small World. Anyhow. My experience of moving between NC and NB, and keeping an Australian house guest off and on in ON, was that being inside was fine. It was just outside that was the problem.

Don't bring her here. No one knows how to glaze a damn window here.

If that was nothing, I'm bouleversed.

He certainly is, Barney.

It's always my hope that everyone who meets him or hears of him gets as inspired as I do...

Heck, even when Alzheimer's hits me (no joke, since it's hereditary, and runs in my family), I don't think it'll be able to make me forget him, nope.

Maybe he's right. Maybe he IS just being normal. After all, that's the way the world *should* be.

Although, that means that the rest of us really, really are slackers.

Thanks for not slacking, Frank's Dad.

And now, for John's english major son: is there such a thing as "blistering cold"? I've heard of blistering heat, but cold...?

yes. I can honestly say that there is.

I actually have the equivalent of sunburn right now all over my face -- a "freeze-burn", so to speak, it's been so cold here these last few weeks.
